Terms of Service

Version 1.1 · July 2026 · EdEvo

These terms govern use of the EdEvo platform at edevo.co.uk ("the Service"), provided by EdEvo, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. Contact: edevouk@gmail.com

1. What EdEvo is

EdEvo provides interactive, curriculum-aligned learning content for UK secondary education, organised into subject Labs: interactive learning activities, in-browser tools, revision games, flashcards, spaced-repetition revision and structured courses, together with class-management features for teachers.

2. Who can use the Service

• Much of the Service (Learning, Tools, Games, Glossary) is available without an account. • Student accounts are intended for pupils in UK secondary education (typically ages 11–18). Students under 13 should only use an account in connection with their school, which remains responsible for the lawful basis of their data processing. • Teacher accounts are approved by EdEvo or by the school; school-wide use is subject to a signed agreement and our Data Processing Agreement. • You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login credentials secure. Accounts are personal and must not be shared.

3. School and trust use

Where a school or trust uses the Service with its pupils: the school is the data controller for pupil personal data and EdEvo is the data processor under the Data Processing Agreement; the school is responsible for any consents or privacy information required for its pupils; teachers may only add pupils they are authorised to teach; and the school is responsible for its users' compliance with these terms.

4. Fees

The Service is currently provided free of charge. If paid plans are introduced, pricing and payment terms will be agreed in writing (for schools) or presented for acceptance before any charge is made.

5. Acceptable use

All users must NOT: • share their password or use another person's account; • attempt to access other users' data, admin areas, or any part of the Service they are not authorised to use; • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or attempt to bypass security or rate limits (schools wishing to conduct security testing must obtain written permission first); • upload or enter unlawful, offensive, discriminatory or bullying content anywhere on the Service, including display names; • use the Service to harass, intimidate or harm any person; • scrape, copy, resell or redistribute the Service or its content except as allowed below; • disrupt the Service (for example by automated high-volume requests).

For students, in plain language: use your own login; be sensible with any name you choose; don't try to break the site or peek at other people's work; and tell your teacher if something looks wrong. Misuse may be reported to your school.

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules. For school-managed accounts we will normally inform the school rather than act unilaterally, except where immediate action is needed to protect the Service or its users.

6. Content and intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, simulators, games and educational content, is owned by EdEvo or its licensors and protected by copyright. © EdEvo. All rights reserved. Teachers and schools may use, display and print content from the Service for teaching within their institution; no other reproduction or redistribution is permitted without written consent. Content uploaded by administrators or authorised content editors must not infringe third-party rights; the uploader grants EdEvo a licence to host and display it within the Service. Exam-board names (OCR, AQA, Pearson Edexcel) are trademarks of their owners — EdEvo is independent of, and not endorsed by, any exam board. Embedded videos are provided via YouTube's privacy-enhanced player and are subject to YouTube's own terms.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability; maintenance, updates and factors outside our control may cause interruptions. Any service-level commitments for schools are set out in the school agreement. We may add, change or withdraw features; material changes affecting school contracts will be notified in advance where reasonably practicable.

8. Data protection

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and, for school-controlled pupil data, governed by the Data Processing Agreement. In short: we collect the minimum data needed to run the Service, we do not show advertising, we do not sell personal data, and we do not use pupil data for marketing.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). The Service is provided “as is” for educational support; it is not a substitute for a specification or examination guidance, and we do not warrant that content is error-free — please report errors to us. Subject to the above, EdEvo's total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to (a) for paying schools, the fees paid for the Service in that period; and (b) for free use, £100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data caused by factors outside our reasonable control.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time (via your school for school-managed accounts, or by contacting us). We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these terms. On termination of a school agreement, pupil data is returned or deleted in accordance with the Data Processing Agreement.

11. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in force. We may update these terms; the current version will always be available here with its effective date, and material changes will be notified to schools.
